Crumpets roasting on an open fire...

This lovely new toasting fork is our latest purchase for the cottage. Use it to toast crumpets or melt marshmallows over the open fire. To get you started, we've left you kilner jar of marshmallows on the bookshelf.

Festive events over Christmas

For our guest staying at the cottage over Christmas, the following festive events are taking place in the village:

Friday, 16th December -  carol-singing evening in the village hall with mulled wine and mince pies at 6 o’clock (‘till 7.15). Collection for the children’s charity CLIC Sargent.

Sunday 18th December – service with carols at 10am taken by priest and farmer, David Ursell.

Sunday, 25th, Christmas Day – family service with carols, welcoming the Nativity scene and Holy Communion. 10am. David Ursell again.

Sunday, 1st January 2012, New Year’s Day – All-age worship (30 mins. duration), in the Stable Bar at the Ring of Bells. 10am with Lionel Holmes.

Love coffee? Our first delivery of Clifton Coffee's rich Brazilian beans is inbound. Enjoy on the sun terrace with a fresh croissant.

Our New Vegetable Patch

Our organic pick-your-own vegetable plot is now up and running. This season, it's all about tasty salad leaves; next spring there will be loads of delicious veggies. Guests are welcome to help themselves for small donation of around 50p. Allotment to kitchen interval : 45 seconds. Veggies don't get much fresher.

Yesssssss! The Times has just ranked us number one country retreat in the UK, calling us 'seriously sexy'.

Arriving at the cottage late? Book one of our delicious homemade pies to be ready and waiting for your first evening. All you need to do is put it in the oven. Choose from lasagne, fish pie or homity pie. Check our 'extras' page for details.

Let us unpack for you

New! Order your groceries online and we'll unpack them ready for your arrival, free of charge. Just order your delivery to come to the cottage between 12 and 4pm on the day of your arrival. Waitrose, Sainsburys and Tesco all deliver to North Bovey.
